finally a corporate whore

Last week wednesday, i became tired of waiting to hear back from extendicare, i called them, ironically? the job had just opened up, and she was going to call the head IT guy and talk to him about it, she said she would call right back, she called back about 37 seconds later and offered me the job. I learned as much as i could about the hiring process, thought about it, i accepted the next day on my way down to chicago for the holiday. On my favorite holiday, i was strongly considering not celebrating, but i felt cautiously confident, and i learned once i accepted that i started this wednesday, 4-26, and i had nothing they wanted me to do before hand (furthermore i planned to worked out a lot and enjoy the steamroom thoroughly, just to be safe ;) On the holiday, i planned to go down to Chicago, see the museum of contemporary Photography, take some pictures, go to see DRAWING RESTRAINT 9, hang out with Casey for the evening. The museum was awesome, lots of cool, beautiful, interesting stuff. Then i hung around Michigan Ave. for a while taking photos, then i made my way up to the theater, i didn't take any maps, and only referred to my memory from being at these places before, i really love just finding your own way, and not going off a map, i also find i notice the journey a lot more and notice much more beauty along the way, rather than just concentrating on road signs. I got to the theater, celebrated the holiday, loved the movie, except for this tea ceremony scene that lasted way too long, but all in all the film was mind boggling beautiful, and endlessly open to interpretation. Then i met up with Casey, we went to a bar for drinks, and dinner, and drinks, and drinks. in that order. Then we went to another bar for drinks, and pool, and free drinks, and free drinks, and pool, and free drinks, in that order, and repeated a few times. The drinks were free because at the 2nd bar they had 2 rooms each with a bar and a plethora of tap beers, the pool table was in one room, everyone else was in the other room, the plethora of tap beers thus became free in our room. We had a great chill fun night, and i definitely shouldn't have driven home , but i did, and i celebrated, and thankfully, maybe luckily, i made it home safely.

Monday we had our Ultimate game, we had two games back to back, we lost both, i sprained my middle finger, then i jammed it, that's my excuse for not writing sooner, my middle finger is still swollen, and hard to bend so i am pretty much always flipping the bird. Yesterday was my first day of work at Extendicare, they are the largest owner of nursing homes in canada and the United States, they also outsource their IT department to other nursing homes, they outsource the company under the company name VCPI, technically i work for them as a Technical Service Desk Analyst.
