Two weekends ago, and earlier last week i was melancholy, melancholy is a great word, but i am often not Melancholy, or in a position to use the word melancholy, but i was then, and i meant to write a post, but i was melancholy, so i didn’t, but now i’m not, so i am writing now. The melancholy was a result of various frustrations with friends or acquaintances, i think they might say acquaintance and i might say friend. i also was burned out taking photos and editing them, and burned out, literally, with one of my vices. Thankfully, the malaise has passed, i am again seeing beauty almost everywhere, i am less frustrated with acquaintances, i am rejuvenated. But i still have 3,038 photo's to edit, i will post some of those photo's tonight, but i also have to go buy Nightwatch or Nochnoi Dozor, http://www2.foxsearchlight.com/nwnd/.
Ohhh Mark, i finally got a digital SLR, a Canon Digital Rebel XT, i have yet to post any pictures i have taken with it, but i got it about 3 weeks ago, and haven’t had a chance to mention it. It really is amazing having an SLR, the benefits, variety, and quality of the images it produces are amazing, it captures beautiful appearances much more accurately than my Canon Elph that is ½ an inch thick.
A few weeks ago, i was hanging out with MaMarino and tt-winters, we were at Taylors, and MaMarino really had the urge to go to La Cage, a popular gay club, there was hesitation by tt-winters and i, but Matt was determined, then he offered to pay cover, and our first drink. Reluctantly we agreed. So we get there and it is almost exactly like you would expect, lots of guys, very stereotypical, but there were a handful of women there as well, or rather people that looked like women. Matt had promised us that tons of women go there too not just gay guys, and the women go to dance, there weren’t tons, but a few that maybe weighed a ton. More than anything it was very interesting watching people and observing various behaviors. For example, there were many guys dancing with a girl up against a wall, or cage, but they weren’t really dancing, they were really just humping the shit out the women, in an apparent attempt to like it, and the more they didn’t like it the harder they humped the girl they were dancing with. i also noticed a stronger than normal desire in myself to go and dance with girls, due to the overwhelming homosexuality surrounding me, and the catchy dance music. In the beginning i did try to dance with a few women, but quickly determined they truly had no interested in anything but dancing, and certainly not in me, but tt-winters was not as dissuaded, and certainly enjoyed dancing/grinding with all the women, and/or people that looked like women. There was one person in specific that MaMarino and i both thought was a tranny that Matt danced with and even made out with. Photos will be posted later, hopefully tonight.
Last Saturday, i went to the Hi Hat/Garage to watch the US vs. Italy match, it was a sweet game, and even sweeter to watch it on high def plasma. After the game i scouted this old factory that i have been trying to go and photograph, and i finally found how to get to it easily. Then i went to the north ave, area, i felt like Elliot’s Bistro and a nice steak, just before i was about to go in, MaMarino called and wanted to hang out later, he had never been to Elliot’s so Matt and Tim, his BF, wanted to meet at Elliot’s for dinner in and hour and a half, so i decided to go and photograph this new building that’s under construction, just off North that’s going to be a parking garage, and some offices. Then we meet at Elliot’s Bistro, they have this steak, Steak Au Poivre that’s has the best sauce i have ever tasted, the seat is seared in the sauce, and then poured over the steak, the sauce is Hennessey, heavy cream, Dijon mustard, and demi-glaze/ dark stock. i found a recipe that is pretty similar, http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/recipe/0,1977,FOOD_9936_23714,00.html , i don’t even like mustard, but i love this sauce, Mark i highly recommend if you’ve never made it or had it. But while the food was amazing, eventually, the dining experience was far from wonderful. First, when we were getting out glasses of water poured my glass, once filled, was spilled all over the table and my lap, luckily though i was wearing swim shorts. Fortunately, we were lucky enough to get a table outside, but unfortunately when he made the sauce in front of us it was too windy(his excuse), and the sauce was very bitter, with a strong taste of Hennessey. Matt complained to our waiter, i agreed, and it seemed like we were going to get new steaks, then he comes back 15 min later and says, “ohh is something wrong?” Ummm yeah these don’t taste good, can we speak to Pierre (the owner and head cook, and guy who made our sauce in front of us, and he named the restaurant Elliot’s rather that Pierre’s because when he opened he felt there was a lot of anti-French sentiment, and he thought Pierre sounded too French), so Pierre came out, and like a wounded puppy asks what is wrong, and what we want done about it, we wanted new steaks and he reluctantly agreed, though he first complained that he could make the sauce outside cause of the wind, to which we obviously replied, fine make it inside and bring it out to us. We finally got the steaks another 20 min later, and they were delicious, and amazing. Then they offered us free desert because of the spilled water, and/or the fiasco with the steaks, so we ordered the most expensive, and that to was ridiculously good. So finally the bill comes, but none of us really want to pay, so we begin planning out ditch, but just before we do it, 3 cops pull up and park within 20 ft of the restaurant, Matt still wants to, but Tim doesn’t and i don’t think it’s a good idea anymore too, since once they realize we left they will just go tell the cops and give them our descriptions. So we paid.
Two Fridays ago, Extendicare rented the Dew Deck at Miller Park for a Brewer game, after work we went to go tailgate, and drink as much beer as possible before the game. We finished the half barrel, then we made our way to the game during the 3rd inning, this event was for all Extendicare employees and their Families, so there were lots of families and kids, and us after we finished a half barrel. As you could guess this might not have been the greatest combination. We had fun and continued to drink a little bit, but mostly just had loud, wild, playful, drunken fun. Furthermore, several of the guys on the service desk enjoy biting women’s asses, literally sneaking up behind them and taking a big bite of their butt cheek. One of them had the idea to ask our vice president if they could do it to his wife, he didn’t think she would like it. It was a fun time, and didn’t think anything that bad had happened, but then on Monday our boss got chewed out and yelled at for our behavior, and then had to lecture us that a lot of people were upset, with all the swearing, the derogatory references to women, and asking to bite the ass of the vice presidents wife.
Last night, i went to the Radiohead convert in Chicago with a coworker, Brian. We left work @ 3:00, and drove down there, once there we looked for someplace for dinner, it took forever to find something half-way decent, ate and drank, then went back to the car, got ready(hint, hint, wink, wink) for the concert, then went to the concert which was 2 blocks from where we parked for $14 (gotta love Chicago prices) . On the way, we passed 3 restaurants that would have been perfect for dinner, if we hadn't walked in the opposite direction when looking for a restaurant. We luckily got to the concert after the opening band finished, and about 15 min before Radiohead went on, ordered some beers, found our seats, and waited with excitement, the level of excitement was amazing, alot more anticipation than i have had for anything in a long time. The venue was also ridicoulously beautiful, it was the auditorium theater, it normally shows operas and things, and the sound system was simply amazing. @ Most concerts the sound is much worse that it sounds on the cd, but with Radiohead, when i saw them at Alpine a few years ago, and then now, their sound is crystal clear, and better than it sounds on the albums. Also Thom Yorke's excitement and enthusiasim seem unlimited, he gives every song everything he has and it shows. The new songs they played were also pretty sweet, here is a link to a video of a new song, http://youtube.com/watch?v=iXutxQBnJTE&search=radiohead ,
here are some more,
